Members of the DBPR team were out over the weekend planting
trees and digging in at Papatoetoe North School in South
Auckland.
The school was one of four winning schools in the second annual
Treemendous School Makeover - a joint initiative by the Mazda
Foundation and Project Crimson Trust.
The 800 pupil school was chosen from 158 nationwide applications
to have its grounds enhanced with a native tree garden.
An outdoor classroom was created with a walkway through native
flora and fauna to an open glade with a seating area.
The three other schools selected for a Treemendous School
Makeover this year were Glenavon School (West Auckland), Malfroy
School (Rotorua) and Hedgehope Primary School (Invercargill).
