The SPCA's Animals' Voice readers have demonstrated - once again - that, when it comes to animals in need, they are incredibly generous. More than $28,500 was raised in the Animals' Voice Assisi Bear Campaign - enough to rescue a Chinese bile bear and meet the costs of its care into the future.

DBC's Liane Donovan was selected to travel to China as an "Assisi Ambassador" to welcome the SPCA's Assisi bear to the Animals' Asia sanctuary for bile bears in Chengdu.
